The location is a 30 minute walk from town; we had a rental car. The owner was very nice and gave us lots of great ideas for the town, restaurants and activities. He also had a big fridge that we could use to store our food which was an added bonus and the only hotel in our stay with this amenity. He also had unlimited water - again, another bonus which we didn't find in hotels for our other stays. He also gave us a frozen bottle of water for free before we hiked the calanques which was super nice and considerate of him. The room was very nice, clean, big, and modern. AC worked well. Bed was comfortable. We enjoyed taking breakfast each morning by the pool, although there were often bees flying around. The grounds are beautiful with amazing flowers. Free parking. The owner also let us park our car on our last day so we could enjoy a half day in Cassis before returning for Nice; this was very much appreciated so we didn't have to expose our car to a parking lot where people could see our luggage. The owner is very engaged and takes good care of his property. There is a lot of pride of ownership as the owner's mom was also present at each breakfast to make sure things ran smoothly and she was always ready to help. There are 4 other rooms so not many guests which gives the stay a nice, intimate feel. The other guests were from other countries around the world, which was nice.
The breakfast was okay. It is included in the room rate. Each room got a pre-arranged amount of croissant/ bread, cheese, ham, prosciutto, yogurt and fruit. The limitation is that because everything is divided already for you, you do not have any choice. Some tables left their croissants, which we would have eaten, for example. It was a small amount of cheese, ham, prosciutto. The quality of the food was average; we had higher quality croissants, meat and cheese at other breakfasts. I think the difference is that we received high quantity and quality at our hotel in Antibes because we paid $15 euro per person. Here, it was included in the room rate so less generous and lower quality although still average/ good. There was no protein like hard boiled eggs. One yogurt was healthy and one had a lot of sugar. Again, because it was pre-sorted for you, you didn't have the option to get two healthy yogurts. While the wi-fi was free, it was almost non-existent - very hard to use. I rarely had service.
