This stay would have been ok but for the horrible smell in the unit. Opening windows, doors and using fans of no help. Mold, mildew? Sewer back up? The smell was so bad I stayed outside of it as much as possible.

Close proximity to almost everything, restaurant food was very good, staff is knowledgeable and very helpful. I would recommend this resort.

Place is not super nice and more like an average place but for the price, and how expensive Belize is I guess it’s ok.
Beds are hard, pool is an old outdoor circular pool with an old deck and chairs.

Maya Mountain lodge is set in the midst of lush tropical plants and flowers. The pool and hammocks are wonderful. We stayed in the Peach room (2 bedroom apt) and it was well equipped and clean. The resort is an older resort from what i understand - the staff were nice. And they provide filtered water in the Peace room (*not sure about other rooms) which was very nice. We relaxed by the pool for two days in the hammocks. Perfect before our long trip home. Would stay there again.
