On the surface, this fairyland setting offers ultimate luxury. Visually, it is magnificent; and the senses are almost overwhelmed by the perfection of the presentation.
The staffing is excellent, the food is of very high quality, but there is limited choice for a person with dairy intolerance. In fact, the waiter informed me that there was nothing I could eat on the dessert menu - and was unable to offer a solution. The accommodation is generally comfortable.
The success of the stay is very dependent on the weather but if it is bad the options are to spend money on food and drink in a cafe or bar, or remain in your room with its basic facilities. On this matter, the TV was not visible from one side of the bed and the chairs were not placed to compensate for this. In terms of Health & Safety, the shower cubicle is dangerous, there being no grab rails or rubber mat.
Suffice to say, we enjoyed our stay, particularly because of the superb weather but in terms of value for money, this falls short, in our experience.

We stayed here for town night in late November and felt the benefits of being in Portmeirion off season, not having to queue for anything and getting some lovely photographs.
