Really pleasant experience overnight at Fonab Castle. Friendly reception staff and a welcoming drop of whisky were warm touches.
Dinner was enjoyed in the very elegant and attractive setting with tasty food in a relaxed atmosphere.
I enjoyed an early morning scenic run around the Lich and into the town of Pitlochry and the accompanying photos show some of the pretty scenery.

PositiveL Beautiful location at a stunning lake, convenient close to highway, very good spa, nice amenities and coffee machine.
Negative: No air conditioning, cabin rooms have poor layout and small bed,

The food in 1892 for breakfast and evening meals were excellent and staff were great.
We were disappointed with the room for the first night and the staff were helpful to get us moved to a quieter room for the second night. Both rooms we visited are starting to look and feel a bit tired with a few faults found in each. The level of refinement and comfort did not meet our expectations and I would not consider the rooms, at least the ones we were in (502 & 604) were to a 5 star level.
We were looking forward to our stay which was booked months in advance, but sadly our overall experience fell short of the 5 star luxury we were expecting.
