La Canonica - Villa Venturini Fendi

This place is a hidden treasure, a small paradise, a breath of fresh air on an arm’s length of Rome.

The house is full of art, the garden is a small paradise, the rooms are lovely and the staff is very nice, helpfull.

Posto molto carino, personale super accogliente e colazione top.

PROS: - Very comfortable bed, plus 2 pillows per person - Beautiful gardens, although need a little upkeep - Eclectic decor (which may not be to everyone’s taste) - Clean; towels were also soft and lovely - Despite the old feel to the bathroom, water was hot almost right away and shower strong.

CONS: - No Wifi. - The place felt like it needed more upkeep, bedside lamp wasn’t working, window shutter handles needed replacements, central heating didn’t work although aircon had heating function but blew out cold air, even after half an hour. - On a main road of a town so not quite the country house and was a little noisy when window was ajar - but at night it was quieter. - Room felt a little cold and damp. Breakfast was okay, espresso and some croissants (cornetti) and cake, which was set at the table already. Would have been nice to have the option of cappuccino, fruit and/or yoghurt.
