We had a lovely weekend it was raining most of it but it didn't make any difference. It was so cosy in the hotel and the breakfast we had was excellent both days, the river alongside was dramatic as it had been raining for a while it was extremely fast flowing.
The staff were all excellent especially the housekeeping lady for room 22 I left my card wallet in the room after checking out when I realised and returned she had recovered it and kept it safe for me. Such fantastic service. Thank you all we will be back

The location is exceptional, the staff are efficient but overstretched. The food is very good, however, all of this is overshadowed by the lack of attention by the brewery to the physical state of the premises.
The exterior of the building is in a bad state of repair with lead flashing hanging off the roof, rotten timber facades, the building has not been painted in years. The rooms have nor been decorated in a long time, doors dont close properly, fittings are loose, all interior paintwork in main building is badly chipped and in need of a major repaint. To be honest, Marston should be ashamed of the fact that they own such a nice building but keep it in such a bad state of repair and the prices they charge are excessive given the shortcomings l have mentioned.
