Hotel Italia

I like the simplicity of this hotel. It was our 4th visit and we are now well known by the staff and owner. Yes, it's like going back in time at this hotel due to the decor and bedrooms but it's an enjoyable experience. We had a garden room this time and will continue to do so in the future - yes the sea view rooms are nice but the noise on the road can get pretty disturbing. The breakfast is always great, fresh and plentiful (the coffee is really good!). The owner and staff are amazing

They have sheets on the bed rather than duvets but I understand that's normal in a lot of hotels - no problem when you get used to it and the beds were comfortable

A charming, historic hotel in an excellent location, near the sea in Massa. The place has an agreeable patina of age, and even a car park in the lovely rear garden. The room was spacious, the bed and linens were very good. Best of all was the amazing breakfast, better than any hotel breakfast I've every had.

The location was great and the staff was excellent.

However, there was basically no privacy in the rooms. Since it’s an old building, the doors are old too, and you can hear everything happening in the neighboring rooms. The cleaning staff made a lot of noise at 7 in the morning, which seriously affected sleep quality. There were also some annoying alarm beeping lights in the room, so you definitely need a sleep mask on top of earplugs. If you are OK with that, it's an hotel where you can stay.
