Location was perfect. The boat tours all depart from near the hotel Hotel was right near the castle and all the shops and restaurants. It was 20 min walk to the grotto and Jamaica breach and 5 min walk to the spa and thermal garden. I loved the lakeside bar of this hotel and having a drink there. Poeti restaurant had nice food. I also loved this hotel has its own thermal spa, which I made good use of and it’s at no extra charge while you are a guest. My room had a lateral view of the lake. It was meant to be a side view, but I thought that I had a pretty good view.
My room was a bit smaller than I expected. I did like the clean bathroom.

Location, Convenience, Ambience & Spa section.
At the foot of the historical centre Hotel Sirmione is perfectly positioned. Overall the hotel has a nice classical feel about it with a great outlook and outside space. The spa experience was interesting and was enjoyable.
We reserved three rooms, but check-in was stressful and confusing. One of the rooms was not ready and was unsuitable for the intended occupants, so it had to be changed. Although we were grateful for the eventual upgrade, the whole process was not a calm or welcoming experience.
Later, I arrived at the bar ahead of my colleagues, but waited over half an hour for a single drink to arrive. Only after raising a complaint did two bottles arrive more promptly, by which time my companions had joined me. Taking our drinks into the dining room (which was full), we quickly realised there were far too few staff to serve the number of guests. After sitting for half an hour without being attended to, we left. Others around us were visibly frustrated at the incredibly slow service.This proved to be the right decision, as the nearby restaurant we visited instead offered outstanding food and attentive service – a complete contrast to what might have been if we had stayed.
At check-out I explained our experience to the receptionist, who relayed the matter to the Manager. However, no apology or gesture was forthcoming. Whether due to a language barrier or the impression that my complaint was not considered serious, the lack of acknowledgment left us feeling unimportant as paying customers.
This was a real shame, as Hotel Sirmione SPA had been intended as the crowning evening of an otherwise successful Italian trip. Unfortunately, the service fell well short of expectation and did not live up to the value of the booking. Regrettably, this has not encouraged us to consider rebooking next year.
