Good afternoon.
When we arrived at the hotel Terminus we were shown to a room that was totally unacceptable as it stunk of stale cigarette smoke. There were cigarette burns in the bedside table and on the flooring beside the bed. When looking into the en suite shower room we were greeted with the smell of human excrement and the ceiling was covered in black mold.
We were unable to stay in this hotel room so we struggled back down to the ground floor as the one person lift only starts and stops from the floor above reception and the exit. We handed our room key back at reception and told the staff that the room was totally unacceptable. Another room was not an option.
Luckily we found a suitable hotel within 200 metres and checked in paying again for our two night stay in Marseilles .
I don’t think the Terminus hotel is suitable for you to use on your platform.

We stayed for one night only and therefore did not have the opportunity to make use of the hotel’s facilities.
The room was clean, well-presented, and comfortable, with a particularly comfortable bed. The inclusion of a kettle was appreciated; however, the provision of proper cups rather than paper cups would have enhanced the experience.
The location was excellent, offering convenient access to the city centre, as well as to train services and the airport shuttle. In addition, there was a good selection of cafés and nearby establishments for dining or takeaway.
There was a lift providing access to the fourth floor where we stayed; however, it was very small and could only accommodate one person at a time, which felt somewhat claustrophobic
All in all it was a pleasant stay.

When we told our French friends that we were going to spend the night at a hotel in front of the Saint Charles train station in Marseille, they all had the same expressions on their faces: grave concern. However, once I spoke to a staff member on the phone about leaving my bags at the hotel and when we arrived I realized that the team at the hotel were especially helpful, friendly, and welcoming. The location is excellent, the price is fair, the room was perfectly adequate, the takeout breakfast was just what we needed for our train ride to Berlin, and we even enjoyed walking around the neighborhood and had an evening tea at Place des Capucines. OK, the neighborhood is a little gritty but the location is perfect if you are grabbing a train or if you want to stroll to the old port. My French friends were wrong - the Hotel Terminus Saint-Charles was really nice.

Staff very helpful, and location next to train station very convenient. However rooms are a bit dated and the floors need a good revival. No fridge or basic glassware in room. It’s budget fine, but you can get more for the price. Breakfast is basic, and ok if your just looking to refuel.
