I chose Romantik because it is on the bibliotel network. I enjoyed leaving books I had finished and finding one to read. Breakfast was amazing with much variety. Exquisite breads, fresh squeezed juice, homemade items, gravlax. In addition, Stephanie was super kind and when she discovered I could not have cow milk, and offered me delicious sheep milk yogurt. She also made great tea recommendations. The view of the lake from the breakfast room is spectacular; don't miss watching the mist rise in the morning. Also, be sure to read the daily newsletter. There is always a community event to check out. I loved the chocolate tasting that featured chocolate the hotel made. The heated lake pool felt good when the air was brr. I wish I could have spent more time in it.
I was excited to reserve a room with a side balcony and lake view, but upon arrival saw that the lake view was minimal and uninspiring. There was also a smell of cigarette smoke; I learned that though the hotel itself is 100 % nonsmoking, guests are allowed to smoke on their balconies. Sometimes even when I had my balcony door closed, I could smell smoke in my room. When I checked in, an employee gave me a tour. It's a big hotel with many nooks and crannies as well as different elevators to use for various locations. The next morning I felt confused how to get to the breakfast room, so I asked this same employee, who said in a very impatient tone, "I already told you." The following day, I was speaking with another employee about some excursions I was considering in the area. She grew very angry with me for not knowing what I wanted to do and for being uncertain about how to do it. All I wanted was for someone to discuss it with, but her manner was so unpleasant, I felt like crying. I went up the street to the bike store that had a travel agency sign outside, and not only did the woman there listen, she also made excellent recommendations for how to proceed. And she said, "You should be talking to your hotel about this; that's why you are paying them." My sentiments exactly! On a different note, though I used the shower glass door, a lot of water went on the floor. Also, I think bathing suits should be encouraged for the shower area by the sauna and pool.

Great location, beautiful view
The church bells ring every hour all night. If you open the windows, it is impossible to sleep. If you close them, there is no AC and it’s too hot.
