Very quiet, comfortable room overlooking the lake. Nearby parking. King size bed as requested.
The hotel implied there was an onsite spa. The isn't, rather a nearby leisure centre a drive away.

Generous sized room, comfortable bed, good supper and breakfast, and very pleasant staff.
The room was very cold when we arrived, and the underfloor heating is very slow to respond. It would have been helpful if that had been switched on before we arrived.

The hotel is set in beautiful grounds and for us its location is ideal as near family. From earlier this year the hotel now allows dogs in their lake view rooms which are separate from the main building, with their own front door and a patio and quick access to a grassed area. We have stayed here many times but first time with our dog. Dogs are allowed in the bar where you can have breakfast/drinks/snacks/evening meal.
Our room was freezing cold. Radiator controls were jammed shut, and we had no means of putting on heated towel rail in bathroom as worked on same system as radiators. I had to go and find someone to check in, as reception and surrounded area deserted at 6.30pm. Luckily I know my way round the hotel so went to the bar and a member of staff there apologised and came back to a still deserted reception to check me in.
We ate in the bar in the evening but the food was very disappointing. We both had fish and chips and most of my fish was inedible, nearly all dried up batter and very little fish.
Loads of laundry bags were piled up In the room beyond reception and also outside the Lake View Rooms.
This is a lovely hotel which needs a lot of money spending on it to bring it up to standard. I think it must be the golfers that keep it going.
