A lovely hotel just outside of town with immediate access to the country. We decided to have dinner there the night we arrived. The front of house team were warm and attentive. The food of both the a la carte and set menu were great.
The cosy double room actually proved reasonably spacious. The only dislike was the bathroom light and fan which activates when you enter the bathroom then turns off a couple of minutes after you exit meaning if you want a tinkle in the middle of the night, your sleeping partner will be hit with both. Other than that, the mattress and pillows are comfortable and breakfast is good. The rest of the team are helpful, friendly and offer excellent local recommendations.
They have a spa but if was already pretty much booked out when we asked for it. Next time!

overall a very good stay.
The bed was comfy.
Bathroom was very clean and places to put wash bag.
The room had lovely modern furniture. Couple of things to note, room could do with a reading light by the bed and the room was above the kitchen so had constant extractor fan noise, but other than that okay.

I stay at the Hartnoll quite often, by far and away the best choice locally. Great staff, modern rooms, awesome breakfast.
Only minor negative premium wines are a touch on the pricey side. (£80 for a Chablis premier cru for example)
