Stayed here previously and keep coming back. The people who work there are brilliant and very helpful. We'd forgotten toothpaste, and Brett gave us an unopened tube of his own to save us having to drive into town. The food and service are absolutely brilliant. We've already booked to go back next year.

The food was exceptional. We ate in the restaurant one evening and the food was faultless. My wife who cannot eat gluten commented that we had never seen a menu with so many gluten free options. The breakfasts were also excellent, all cooked fresh and lots of choice. The staff were excellent, very friendly and knowledgeable about the local area. The hotel is on its own natural spring so all the water in the hotel is spring water which was really nice to drink straight from the tap. Its location is perfect for walking, we were able to walk up Skiddaw from a spot 3 mins drive from the hotel. We needed to store some food for our hill walk which we had bought on the day of the arrival and the hotel kindly let us store it in their fridge overnight. Over all a highly recommended stay.
Though the rest of the hotel was clean and new and freshly painted, the bathroom in the room we stayed in felt badly thought through, as if it was an afterthought, and there was mold in the grouting which was a shame as the rest of the room, and the hotel in general which was immaculate.
