Statham Lodge Hotel

I was trailering a boat and picked this place because of the space at the end of the car park which is specifically for longer vehicles. Despite being near the M6 motorway (which is also a benefit of course) it was a quiet location.

The coffee was the worst I've ever had.

Already knew about the hotel but never stayed there. A great location and such lovely grounds and hotel a beautiful dining area and characterful rooms. Really comfortable rooms and well decorated. Great breakfast!!! The best we have had for a while in a hotel.

The rooms were a bit disconnected from the rest of the hotel. We knew to go through different function rooms because we had been to evening events but others wouldn’t have.

It’s a very pretty hotel, exceptionally clean and well run. Breakfast and dinner had a wide choice. All of the staff were helpful and friendly. Perfect position for motorway as only 6 minutes from the junction but very quiet and peaceful. Ample parking . Huge function room.

Exterior and gardens are beautiful, it’s a great location.

Rooms were boiling hot but I was provided a fan on request. Two major fails were the car park flood lights which are on all night and illuminate the room and early morning deliveries (both mornings I stayed and one one was a weekend) which were right under my window, impossible to sleep through and not quick. One breakfast (eggs royal) the muffin was so burnt there was no point in sending it back as it’s should have never been sent out in the first place. Zero care or pride applied, The salmon was transparently thin as well but incongruously the poached eggs were perfect.
