We went here for our honeymoon. The fact that they left a handwritten card in the room and were able to fulfill our request for a double bed was very nice. We appreciated it!
There appeared to be quite some miscommunication between the lobby front staff, and they were not always very fast. Easy to improve this I think though with some more training? The restaurant Waves had also various staff: some were really amazing (the lady from Portugal!!) and other seemed not to be so keen (one left the drinks we ordered for a long time on the bar and at some point we just pointed out to them where our drinks were and if they could please bring it... not very professional ;-)!)

Historic location, wonderful seafront position. Lovely staff, trying their best to cheer people up in an otherwise slightly depressing off-season and gloomy venue. I imagine it looks and feels much better in summer.
The building is dated, and looks a bit scruffy. The price does not reflect the quality of the finishings. I was in room 272, which is next to a staff utility room and therefore was quite noisy during the day.

The staff were attentive and very willing to help, the room was great with the sea view and was very comfortable indeed.
The bar closed very early. We had been on the road most of the day and arrived after 9pm and by the time we got changed there was not time to have food and only one drink before were told that we would have to leave the bar. I can understand this if we were non-residents of the hotel, but this was out first night and we needed something to eat and drink.
