About this cottage rental
This listed 'Borgo' around the central Ticino 'Palazzo' with other apartments - built as early as 1522 as one of the first stone houses in Vallemaggia - was built in 1746 even this smaller "Casetta" with its own yard.
In it you, your loved ones or friends can sunbathe in deckchairs under vines and kiwis in the chirping of birds and rushing of the nearby waterfall. Protected by stone walls and hand-decorated terracotta vases, in the beguiling scent of lavender, you discover the Italian "Dolce far niente" during extended siestas - because the miracle of the time only shows itself without a clock!
But you can also develop countless sporting and cultural activities in the original natural arena of Maggia Valley and nearby Lake Maggiore - from daring canyoning and diving in wild ravines, contemplative hiking through chestnut forests in search of goblins and elves, cycling through pretty villages and quiet Side valleys, until sunbathing on the sandy beach or on glistening granite rocks, where you look out of bliss at so much sun with a deep sigh the sheep in the blue sky and the circling eagle during his aerobatics in the thermals.
Archaic and lunar, nature and culture, tradition and avant-garde can be found here after a short drive next to each other. Because so much sun makes you hungry at international festivals for film, jazz, blues, classical music and theater. Bucolic and culinary tempt you in numerous romantic Grotti and dignified restaurants. Such diversity inspires again and again artists from near and far, philosophers and poets of world renown. Die Wohnung im sehenswerten Dorf Maggia ist perfekt, um das Maggiatal zu erkunden. Besonders geschätzt haben wir die gemütliche Wohnstube, die sich mit der angenehm schattigen Terrasse verbindet. Und die Nähe zu Salto und Maggia.

Andy ist ein herzlicher und hilfsbereiter Gastgeber, der alle schönen Ecken im Tessin kennt und zu jeder unterhaltsamen Geschichte das passende Buch in der Hausbibliothek hat. Die Casetta ist perfekt und charmant eingerichtet. Bade-sowie Einkaufsmöglichkeiten in Fussdistanz. Wir haben uns sehr wohl und willkommen gefühlt.

Wir verbrachten eine wunderbare Woche im Domizil der Familie Eglin, die hier einen fantastischen Ort zur Besinnung geschaffen hat. Mit viel Liebe zum Detail wird mühelos die Brücke geschlagen zwischen der Jahrhunderte alten Tradition und der Moderne. Angenehme Begleiter bei dieser unglaublichen Zeitreise sind Reiseführer Andy mit seinen tollen Tipps für Sehens- und Erlebenswertes und natürlich Prinz Neo, edler Spross eines ehrwürdigen Katzengeschlechts, kommunikativ und kuschelig, gerne dazu bereit, den Besucher auf Zeit in seinem Reich willkommen zu heißen. Der perfekte Ort für Individualisten, die ein liebevolles Zuhause unpersönlichem Mainstream vorziehen. Wir kommen wieder!
