A getaway in southern Burgundy, a stay near Chalon sur Saône, a stopover in the direction of the Alps or the Mediterranean, a break on the road to the great wines of Burgundy, a stopover by bike along the greenway ???
We have what you need: In Givry, wine-growing town on the Chalonnaise coast, 60 km south of Dijon, 10 km west of Chalon sur Saône (A6 motorway), 20 minutes from the TGV station
Cottage for a family with two children or two couples of friends.
Rental in an old house, located 200 m from the city center and 500 m from the greenway.
Upstairs bedroom with private bathroom and WC, adjoining room with additional sleeping (2 people).
Cot and high chair.
Kitchen in an old bread oven.
Independent entrance.
Large enclosed garden and courtyard, car parking.
Possibility to park motorbikes or bikes under cover.
Animals accepted (10 € / animal)
English spoken.

Low season: 290 € per week including linen and towels provided.

We spent eight nights at La Maison Jaune and found it a delightful setting. Aline and her husband were warm and friendly and were helpful with local information. The house is in the village of Givry but it has a beautiful and extensive garden which was available to us. We could walk to restaurants and shops. If you enjoy cycling, the Voie Verte and the Canal make this a perfect place.

Hier passte einfach alles. Die Wohnung ist mitten im kleinen Ort Givry und alle wichtigen Geschäfte sind zu Fuß gut erreichbar. Aline ist eine wunderbare Gastgeberin und hat uns mit ihrem Mann freundlich begrüßt und in Empfang genommen. Die Wohnung war sauber und gut ausgestattet. Man hat Zugang zum schönen Garten und glaubt gar nicht, dass man mitten im Ort ist. Auch das Umland ist schön und lädt zu Ausflügen ein. Wir kommen gerne wieder und bedanken uns ganz herzlich.

The town and surrounding vineyards are lovely, but be prepared for constant reminders that you're staying at the owners' home and that privacy is limited. Not 'staying' as a guest, though, as we were not made to feel very welcome.
Also, bear in mind that the owners, by their own admission, do not clean the apartment between visitors! We were given musty towels and greasy dishes, but at check-out we were told by the looming and pointing owner to remove every dog hair from the curtain and every speck of dust from the floor - with no soap or mop on offer.
Our dogs were allowed for an additional fee, but it was apparently unacceptable that they made noise whilst playing during the day. We didn't spot a poo near the owners' door which supposedly brought a plague of flies upon the house, but the compost heap directly outside our kitchen window surely attracted enough of them.
