About this house rental
The cottage is situated in an old barn of 1830, hence the name "La Grange". It is located in Claret, a typical mountain hamlet in the heart of the regional park of Chartreuse. The hamlet is located at 1000 m. above sea level with stunning views of mountains, forests and meadows of Chartreuse. You can go by foot, bike or snowshoe from the house or join various beautiful places to ski, climb, swim, explore the culture and the products and local gastronomy. The Chartreuse Mountains was appointed as Regional Park a few years ago, in recognition of its outstanding natural beauty; it houses some of the rarest species of plants in the Alps and a wide range of wildlife. The area also has a rich history, particularly marked by the presence of the Carthusian monks in the monastery of the Grande Chartreuse. The massif is located near Grenoble, Annecy and Chambery.

Our host was easy to communicate with and was there to welcome us when we arrived and to make sure we had everything we needed. The home is located in the moutains and the views are wonderful!!Everything was clean and the kitchen was well equipped. Every bedroom had an attached bathroom. It does have lots of stairs which should be noted for those with mobility issues. The washer and dryer was a great addition. We loved the warmth of the wood stove. A wonderful place to stay for us!!!

We arrived cold and wet after a day on the bikes in the rain. The Gîte was cosy and comfortable with plenty of heating to dry out. We would be happy to return with the hope of drier weather. We could easily spend a few days exploring the region.
