OK this is not a modern, glass and chrome hotel. It's an old inn and as such has a certain charm. It is convenient and we had no issues parking. Some areas of the property could benefit from a lick of paint but apart from being a little 'tired' we found everywhere to be clean and tidy.
The room had received a coat of paint and had a nice contemporary feel to it. Again everything was clean. I think the bathroom is next for a makeover. But apart from the odd scrape and scuff it all functioned well and the shower was nice and hot.
The staff that we met were all extremely friendly and welcoming and nothing was too much trouble. The bar appeared popular for food with many of the tables reserved (Worth noting is you are staying and want to eat in the bar). Good selection of beers and wines. Breakfast was lovely. All freshly cooked and served in a separate dining area.
The old place has been around for a long time and may look a little tired in places. But this is more than made up by the lovely staff.
As with most old places it's easy to pick faults. But at the end of the day it was clean, friendly and welcoming and that more than makes up for a few scuffed marks on the paintwork.

Really friendly staff, excellent evening meal and breakfast and very comfy room. Nice beers in the pub too.
It's a little tired looking but I quite like that.

Friendly welcome. Clean room and good breakfast.
Very noisy kitchen extractor fans right below the room which weren't turned off until about 11pm.
