The exclusive castle apartment is located in the medieval wing of Schloss-Unsleben. It consists of a very spacious living room (around 40 sqm), the 'Blue Salon', a small, modern kitchen with every comfort (coffee pad machine, dishwasher, oven, microwave, etc.) and a dining table, one original bathroom with double washbasin, bath and large mirror and a spacious anteroom with an elegant dining table. The apartment is a self-contained unit in the castle, where guests can enjoy the overwhelming charm of the house completely undisturbed. Calmness and a view of the charming landscape beyond the moat let even the tense guest quickly relax.

Our moated castle offers you five original holiday homes that have one thing in common: tranquility, romance and castle character. Surrounded by the protective moat with colorful fish in it, you will experience a world that is very rare in Germany: a private castle that is still inhabited today and invites you to be a guest for a while. The apartment 'Burghäuschen' has 2 bedrooms, bathroom, living room with kitchenette and a cozy fireplace. The 'castle apartment' captivates with its architectural uniqueness, historical furnishings and painting of ceilings and walls as well as modern comfort. The 'Falcon Nest' combines a unique view from the chapel tower in all directions with comfortable living for 1-2 people in historic walls! Finally, large families or 2-3 couples also feel at home in the 'Gardener's House': it can accommodate up to 6-8 people! The old brewery offers space for families or groups traveling together on 2 uncomplicated, hard-wearing, spacious floors with 10-13 beds.

And if you don't want to leave it on a simple walk, the hiking paradise Rhön attracts with almost inexhaustible paths in mountains and valleys, steep and flat, on the river or in the moor.
Diverse excursion possibilities: The surrounding area invites to excursions of very different types: culture in Meiningen, Würzburg, Fulda and the surrounding area. Not to be forgotten in Bad Kissingen and other health resorts that offer a demanding and extensive concert and theater program in summer. Bathing enthusiasts will find fun and exercise at affordable prices in the Triamare in Bad Neustadt / Saale. But also at the swimming lake a few kilometers away.

The castle was built in the 1100;s and the apartment we stayed in was built in the 1500's. This place is gorgeous! Not a whole lot in the small village but you are close to a lot of sites. The people are friendly and there is just something about staying in a 900 year old castle. The apartment has a full kitchen and the main room has a small radio and television. Firestick is needed unless you speak German. The owners were very friendly and responded to any needs. The kitchen is a little dated and the bathroom takes a while to get hot water. Also, it is a tub . No real shower. I really did not mind a few minor inconveniences due to the fact I was in a real 900 year old castle. There is a small grocery right outside the grounds (100 m) to grab snacks and wine! You will have to travel around the various towns for restaurants as we only saw one in Unsleben and it was closed. We will definitely be visiting this Castle again !
