Newly built interior in this 2 bedroom one bath apartment with Lake Junaluska view from deck. Adjacent hiking trail with many more hiking options nearby. All new appliances, fully equipped kitchen, nicely decorated throughout.
Find yourself at beautiful Lake Junaluska surrounded by the magnificent Blue Ridge Mountains. Adjacent Waynesville, NC is very artsy with many neat shops, great restaurants, unique home furnishings stores and galleries. Touristy Maggie Valley is just six miles down the road. Cherokee with all its shops, Cherokee Nation Museum and Harrah's Casino is only a 35 minute drive through the scenic Smoky Mountains. You could even spot a Black Bear or Elk along the way, which are thriving in Western NC.
Enjoy swimming and hiking in the summer, snow skiing and snow tubing in the winter (ONLY 10 MILES TO THE NEAREST SKI LIFT AND 6 MILES TO FAMILY SNOW TUBING, see photos).
Our property sits on the Lake Junaluska grounds within walking distance to the Lake, which has a two and a quarter mile hiking trail around the lake. Speaking of hiking, nearby there are some of the best hiking you will find anywhere, with scenic waterfalls, from "easy" to "extreme" opportunities.

Host was welcoming and helpful; apartment was charming, well equipped and so clean! Location gave us a lake view and delightful back deck for soaking up beautiful fall weather in peace. A bonus was being able to bring our dog with us--her portable crate slid easily into the laundry room as well for bedtime. Thank, Larry, for a great stay!

We have a week long conference every year at Lake Junaluska. In searching for a place to stay within our price range and allows animals, I found the Starstorm Mountain apartment. Larry was great! Communicated well. The check-in process was easy. The apartment was very clean. It was a great place for us to come home after working our event. It’s not far from Stuart Auditorium where our meetings were held.

I grew up going to Lake Junaluska with my family so I am very familiar with the area. Starstorm Apt #2 was perfect for my husband and me. We appreciated the clean aesthetic and modern appliances. It was even prettier in person than the pictures. I love the mix of colors used in the decor -- light and airy, versus dark colors used in a lot of mountain homes. The place was immaculate. It is well taken care of. A variety of coffee was provided for the Keurig, basic seasonings for cooking, and cleaning supplies if needed. We cooked a lot of meals and had everything we needed in regards to pots, pans, and utensils. We loved spending time on the deck reading or playing games. We did not have issues with bugs. We had no issues with TV or Wi-Fi.Larry provided great communication before our arrival and checked in on us after a day or so to make sure we had everything we needed. The only confusing thing was that VRBO sent us an access code for the keypad that did not work. I quickly realized that Larry sent a message that included the actual access code.We loved our stay. It was comfortable, clean, and so peaceful. We definitely plan to come back and stay here agian!

The only view from the Starstorm Mountain apartment is from the deck. There is no view from inside the apartment. Unfortunately, it rained every day of our visit except the first day. We did enjoy the deck on that first day, but spent the remaining time in the cave. The information regarding the apartment stated that there is a fireplace. We looked for it expecting a woodburning or gas log fireplace. We finally discovered a fake fireplace in the cabinet under the TV. While it did put off some heat it certainly didn't rate as a fireplace!
The apartment was big and comfortable. The unit was clean and well-stocked. Our main issue was with the lack of a view since that is our main reason for going to the mountains.
