Tulloch (2 Hamilton Place)

There was a great little welcome hamper on arrival: some milk, oats, shortbread, tablet, chocolates. The place was spacious and the little garden was a decent place to sit and enjoy some sun. The fire was cosy and host provided all the fuel needed. and the kitchen was quite well equipped. Also a good selection of toys and books to keep a toddler busy. Travel cot and high chair, bedding, towels and tea towels also provided. Washer and dryer in the kitchen plus dishwasher made for an easy stay. Great value for money as a wee place to stay, was near the swimming pool and play park as well as shops and cafes.

I hadn't quite read all the reviews before booking so it wasn't totally clear that the central heating only runs off the fire. The host provided the necessary fuel which helped (though a little more kindling could have been beneficial to be fair) and there are electric heaters to give some heat while you wait on the fire and radiators to get going but the upstairs ones weren't functioning for us. We didn't mind too much and didn't bother the host about that so it was grand. The hot water wasn't always available for a bath/dishes, we didn't totally figure that out but the electric shower was a good job. Again, if we'd asked the host they would have certainly helped but we were pretty chill about that.

Exactly what we were looking for, great location and all we needed a short walk away.

We had a really uncomfortable mattress & it was heavily stained:( The house was full of cobwebs so I had to hoover them. It wasn’t very clean.
