The location was very central just off the main square behind the clocktower and only a few minutes walk from the ski lifts/ski hire shop. The small ski slope and lift were perfect for beginner skiers and I expect more experienced skiers will be happy with the blue, red and black runs up the large ski lift. There are also 3-4 ski areas between Padola and San Candido (30mins away and itself a large ski area), so Padola is an ideal base to explore various ski slopes.
The village SPAR shop is well stocked with plenty of food, drinks and household items, including hot prepared food to bring home to quickly feed your family after a long day on the slopes. There is a post office and ash point 1 min away, a gift/craft shop and a couple of local bars within a few mins walk. Next to the ski area are 2 cafes serving food and a car park.
The accommodation at our Comelico Chalet apartment was spacious, warm, comfortable and fairly luxury. Our stay was great despite an issue with the diesel fuel freeing and our car needing to be towed away for minor repairs (if your car is a diesel, make sure you plan you fuel consumption and you don't fill up your diesel tank with 'regular' diesel from the warmer lowlands (Brescia, Verona, etc.), otherwise it may be at risk of freeing too). Next time we will plan to arrive in the mountains with around one quarter of a tank of fuel, so we can fill up with 'arctic diesel' from a local garage in the mountains before arriving to Padola - this fuel is formulated with a de-gelling additive that won't freeze at -10C and below and your car should start the next day.
Our host Ivana was very friendly, helpful and was on site each day, as was Daniel who came to clear snow and keep the area ice free and safe to walk around. Ivana and Daniel went 'above and beyond' to help me locate our car in a nearby village garage and drive me to collect it.

La casa è accogliente e pulitissima, dotata di tutti i servizi che servono (cucina ben attrezzata, una bella doccia in bagno). Gentilissima Ivana ad accoglierci. Un piacevolissimo soggiorno. Ottimo il rapporto qualità L/prezzo. Grazie mille!

Mooi appartement met fijn woonkamer/keuken en grote slaapkamers. Mooie ligging incl. Tuin.
