Ipanema beach apartment - best place in Rio

Luis was quick to reply to questions. It’s within 5 minutes from the beach. There’s a grocery with a bakery within a 10 minute walk along with lots of restaurants. We didn't fix any meals while we were there but the kitchen had everything we would have needed if we had. The beds were comfortable, the air conditioning was great and we liked having a bath for each bedroom. The apartment is small, but we knew that going in. It’s Rio and we knew we would spend most of our time sightseeing or at the beach. There was plenty of room to come back after a day out and relax. We had 7 adults. For the one room my wife and I slept on the top bunk and let our single son sleep on the twin below. We would definitely rent the place again.

There was enough space for our multi generational family of 7 who stayed here for 10 days in August. It was great to have washer and dryer available. Subway station and grocery store are within 10 minutes walk, and you can reach the beach in 5. Since we have 3 small children, it was nice to be near a playground (there's a school nearby). The owner was very helpful with storing our luggage after checkout while we explored for a few more hours before heading to the airport. Only thing to note is that someone, somewhere in the building smokes, and the smell would get into the apartment sometimes. The road outside was either empty or bumper to bumper traffic (not sure if that was due to Olympic events in the area) Overall, the building was peaceful, clean, and nicely situated for our needs. Perfect place for our first international family vacation!
