My wife and 3 sons (15, 12 and 8) regularly rent villas in Europe, and travel from San Francisco to great places with great villas. Villa Alone is the best villa we have seen. The property itself is brand new, with no finishes unshared. It sits with an amazing view of the Gulf of Kissmosos in the middle of an olive grove. We stayed 4 nights and wished we had stayed more.
More importantly, the owner Fotini is fantastic. Super responsive to all our questions in advance and a real host. She also owns another luxury villa in Kalavini which she kindly took us through as a tour, and a hotel in Hania. Her villa has all the amenities one would want. We LOVED the west coast of Crete and spent days at different beaches and the pool. Be sure to go to Elafonisi, Balos and Falasarna. There is a lovely restaurant in Kalavini (Gramoussa?) which was so outstanding that we ate their twice in 4 days.
The property is so well maintained on a DAILY basis, with tons of fresh towels and cleaning by a lovely woman (Bella) who can also secure groceries. There is an outstanding outdoor kitchen with 2 grills and a view over the olive grove -- also, check out the huge. herb garden on the property.
We have traveled quite a bit with our young sons, but this villa exceeded all expectations. Thank you Fotini for being our kind host!!
