Villa Danna is a luxurius, tranquil and modern villa located in an idillic, natural environment offering absolute privacy. Villa Danna is one of the two villas called villas Davis in Rethymno that belong to the Davis family.
It is built on the outskirts of the quiet village of Prines. Prines is only 6km from the traditional town of Rethymnon and only 50km from the cosmopolitan city of Chania. The villa has 200 square meters of spacious living space and was build on a blossoming piece of land of 4.000 square meters that is connected with a 5.000 square meter olive grove. The flowers in the gardens are flowers and trees common to Crete but the gardens are distinguished for the collection of herbs that give characteristic beautiful smells in and out of the villa.
The villa has been build with a great respect to the natural environment and this is why you can see big old olive trees with huge trunks in the gardens. The décor of each room has a character that has been inspired by the see views, by the beautiful natural surroundings and by the romantic and idyllic evenings in the villa.
The materials and fabrics used in the villa are always kept in an exceptionally clean condition that we are praised for.
The villa offers a calm, secluded environment and is suitable for max 10 persons.

Interior of the Villa :
The Villa is an elegant 5-bedroom villa which offers a spacious two floor living area and a ground floor studio flat. The first floor has 2 en suite bedrooms with balconies, living room, dining area, kitchen and an extra W/C with shower and also a spacious terrace with amazing sea views. The second floor has 2 en suite bedrooms and balconies, a living room and an enormous terrace with fantastic sea views and mountain views. The ground floor has a studio flat with a double bed, bathroom with W/C shower, a living area and a kitchen. All bedrooms and living areas offer free air conditioning.
A beautiful courtyard with private pool, grassy landscape and olive trees are available.
Ground floor :
Villa Danna offers a spacious, luxurious living room that is surrounded by big windows that allow a lot of sun light in the room. It has two comfortable sofas and an armchair where the visitors can relax and watch satellite TV, films, or play board or card games or just choose a book from the library to read and relax!
The living room is surrounded by a spacius terrace and this allows you to have sea views or views of the gardens and the olive grove even when you are sitting in the living room.
The colours are warm natural colours that fit with the natural environment and the artistic mood of the garden design.
The dining table is big enough to host 10 people however many of our visitors prefer to have their dinner in the big balconies that are fully furnished in order to enjoy the warm weather and the summer breeze.
The first floor has two bedrooms with en suite bathrooms and there is an extra bathroom by the living area. The first bedroom has a double bed, spacious cupboards, and an en suite bathroom with a bathtub. The colours of this room are blue and the decoration is inspired by the sea views of the villa. The en suite bathroom has a romantic décor. All towels and linen are offered and will be nicely decorated in your rooms! They are replaced during the cleaning of the villa. The room has a balcony with beautiful garden views.
The second bedroom has two single beds the décor is inspired by romantic natural colours and the room has a balcony with garden views. There is an en suite bathroom with a shower and the colours are vivid spring colours for this bathroom.
Villa – Top floor
The top floor is the most impressive part of the villa. This is because of the big windows, the enormous terrace and the fantastic sea and mountain views that it offers. Our visitors spend a lot of time relaxing and admiring the sea views and the view of the White Mountains from this spacious terrace. Being there you feel the aura and it gives you energy by creating a unique feeling of you being a part of the nature.
There are two bedrooms on the top floor. One of them has a double bed with traditional and romantic touches of decoration. It has a big en suite bathroom where you can also find and use a washing machine for your laundry and the other bedroom has a king size bed with more modern touches of decoration and a beautiful bathroom with a shower. All rooms go with soft and clean white cotton bed sheets and soft cotton towels.

Exterior of the villa

The villa enjoys an elevated position in tranquil rural surroundings with views across orange and olive groves to the sea. A beautiful courtyard with pool, grassy landscape and olive trees is offered.
Rich gardens with private areas and a private swimming pool is at your disposal along with BBQ facilities and outdoor furniture.
As you are walking around the gardens you can find pieces of art that are created by our artist Michael. You can also take benefit of the vegetable gardens and collect your own veggies like tomatoes and cucumbers or corns when they are available.
The swimming pool is safely designed with a safe area for children and big enough for you to enjoy a swim. It is being cleaned everyday as is an outdoor pool.
The plants, trees and herbs are making the gardens a unique place to sit and relax.

Location:
Prines is a traditional village of Crete with a few tavernas and mini markets in its centre, at about 1 km away from the villa. The larger town of Atsipopoulo is just 3km away and offers two supermarkets, tavernas, banks and a popular pizza restaurant. The sandy beaches of Gerani and Episkopi are located in short driving distance (5-10 minutes away). Rethymno, the main city is 6km from the villa.
Rethymno on the North coast of Crete, situated at equal distances from Heraklion and Chania, is only a short distance from the most picturesque countryside, making it an ideal center to explore the island.
Crete is the largest island in Greece, between Europe and Africa. Majestic mountains rise in its center- the White Mountains, Psiloritis or Ida and Dikti Mountains- but there are also lots of endless beaches.

After Covid measures: Cleaning was always the most important focus in our villa. We use pharmaceutical disinfectants to clean every surface of the villa. We pay special attention to the kitchen and bathroom areas that we diligently clean with bleach. All fabrics and linen are washed at 90 degrees Celsius. The cleaning is supervised by the owners of to ensure the highest standards of cleaning offered.
