It is located in a place looking like a far Aegean island, feeling like you are away from it all. You can't believe this place is only 50 km from down town Athens!
Acropolis, a World Class monument, its famous new museum, all major archaeological sites, the picturesque old Plaka and the modern city are at a little more than an hours reach, along with numerous cultural and recreational possibilities.
Schinias in Marathon where villa is located, is a top rated beach of Athens, boasting more than 6 km of sandy beach, with crystal clear and mostly calm waters, and a rare cone forest reaching to the water edge!
The Villa itself, is a rare example of traditional architecture, built with stones from its own land, in an inspired 'castle like' design.

We had a truly wonderful week at the villa and were taken good care of by our host Michael.The villa had ample room for our group of 15 friends (many couples) both for sleeping and in general spending time inside and outside. It has a lot of character and was fun to explore. The last week of September had lovely weather, if a bit windy. We enjoyed dips in the pool and the sea (multiple great swimming spots within walking distance). We had rental cars which is definitely needed. There's a great mini market nearby, but restaurants, beaches and larger shops are driving distance.The view from the villa is unmatched, please make sure to wake up early for the sunrise at least once!

All eight of us had an incredible week at the stone castle villa and the Marathon area. Plenty to do, see, and enjoy. The accommodations were perfect, and Michael is a terrific and attentive host. He has all kinds of recommendations and even helped us book a last minute taxi among other vendors. We hope to be back someday!!

My family and I spent our holiday at Stone Castle Villa during week 30 of 2025. It’s a fantastic house with a beautiful and peaceful location. The owners welcomed us with traditional Greek snacks, fruit, wine, beer, soft drinks, and juice – a lovely touch after a long journey.From the very first moment, we felt at home and truly welcome in the house. The owners provide first-class service and support – something that’s essential for a successful holiday.We also received help arranging a chef who prepared a wonderful birthday dinner, and we were also introduced to the most amazing driver and guide, a former businessman with a great personality.My warmest recommendations go to Stone Castle Villa.
