About this house rental
Our spacious house in the village of Montaigut le Blanc in the Auvergne region of France offers visual treats and life-style pleasures. It is a base for unmatched hill- walking and wheeled exploration of a fabled region and there is comfortable space for 8 persons with an intimate and welcoming core perfect for 2. The house is best suited for a maximum of 3 couples, because of the bed configuration and in the interest of privacy. The base price listed is for 5 guests. Fees apply for additional guests (maximum 8).
From the windows, balconies and gardens there are beautiful views of the village and countryside. Modern touches include international satellite TV, high speed internet connection, Smart TV , BluRay player, and free local calls.
The 200-square-metre (2200 square-foot) house is built of stone, finished to modern standards. The owner’s renovation, completed in the early 2000s, transformed the structure with flair and respect for the building’s original character. The previous major renovation was in Napoleonic times, and you can find traces of an earlier construction from the 16th century. The building is on a list of architectural treasures of the commune – the regional office of the Architect of France contributed significantly to the redesign.
The garden are was restored in the spring of 2024, after Covid related absences allowed it to decline. It reflects photographs accurately at this time.

Nous avons passé un très bon moment dans cette magnifique et spacieuse maison ! Elle est très bien équipée et le placement est parfait pour accéder à de nombreux départs de randonnée.

Très belle résidence, vaste, bien aménagée, que du bonheur. On a apprécié la grande cuisine où on peut évoluer à plusieurs, la baie vitrée avec une vue imprenable sur la vallée. Les gérants et propriétaires sont sympa, accessibles facilement et sont souples.
2 tous petits bémols: le stationnement peut parfois être un peu compliqué, et le gite a pas mal d'escaliers. Rien de bien méchant, on reviendra!

Nous donnons un 10/10 à cette location spacieuse et charmante. Montaigut est, de plus, une commune qui a gardé une âme appréciable. Le site est aussi typique que la maison. La météo nous a permis de visiter les environs sans faire de grands déplacements car Champeix, Saint Nectaire, Besse, le lac Pavin sont tout proche de Montaigut.
