We spent a fabulous August week at the house in La Jolla with the kids and our 5 & 7 year old grand kids. Did we ever make the right decision!
The house is quite elegant in a modern way. It's extremely comfortable with every amenity one could possibly need. In fact, the house is so nice that it made my everyday abode feel shabby by comparison. Elena is one of those people who seems compulsively clean and neat so in that department the house was impeccable. If you walked barefoot in the house you'd be more inclined to worry about getting the floors dirty than the other way around.
The previous year we stayed in Mission Beach, a short, short walk from the water. At first I thought we might be too far away this year. Not so at all. In fact, it was much better to be away from the madding crowd yet very close in to shops, restaurants, grocery stores and the beaches. At the end of the day I loved sitting on the little deck by the front door, looking at the beautiful views of the ocean, the beaches and San Diego with no noise, just calmness.
One of the many things we loved was the back yard and outdoor eating area. The kids had a great place to play with a soccer ball and putt golf balls and we could sit comfortably and watch them and participate when we felt like it. And if there was information we needed about the house, Elena got us the answer right away. She and her husband are extremely gracious hosts who put a premium on customer service.
I'm trying to think of a complaint. Hmmm...... A couple of minutes have passed. Can’t come up with anything.

What a wonderful week we had at this property. From the minute we contacted Robert to our vacation, he was a pleasure to work with. Full of great information about the area and suggestions to do for our family. The home is gorgeous-views everywhere, comfortable rooms, modern decor and well equipped for a host of people. We were happy to spend time grilling, enjoying the views and relaxing in this home. Everything you need for the beach is available and it is close to so many sites. It was a wonderful week made better by an owner who is proud of his home and wants his guests to enjoy it as much as he does!

Our stay in this beautiful home could not have been better. We were there for a family reunion to spread two family members' ashes. This home could not have functioned better for all. The setting was truly the key factor in making our time a beautiful event to remember. The views are spectacular, the setting unbelievably relaxing, the spaces are varied so many people could share time together in privacy or 26 of us could be together for a barbeque. The yard has a putting green and the house can seat everyone so comfortably. There was not one piece of equipment we needed that was not there. The owners were so accommodating and made sure we had everything we might require. The furniture was beautiful, comfortable and functional. I would love to go back very soon.

Well what can I say. We arrived at the property being escorted by Robert the owner to the spa channel playing throughout the property and the lighting set to create an amazing atmosphere. He then showed us around giving us lots of information with a bottle of wine chilling in the fridge and access to the spirit cupboard. Everything was appointed beautifully and everything had been thought of. There were all the spices and sauces in the cupboard to help yourself to and all the cleaning and laundry products. Robert then kindly made us a fantastic maragrita and left us to it. He returned the next day to show us on a map everywhere we had to visit and what to see, without that insider knowledge our trip would not of been so good. The views were fantastic. A brilliant time in a brilliant property. Thank you.
