In beautiful unspoiled Imperial Beach lies an 15 minutes from downtown San Diego but you might as well be an ocean away. Imperial Beach is quite possibly the last undiscovered beach town in California. Just south of the crowds and chaos of Coronado, this spacious, quiet condo provides you with easy access to peaceful beaches, beautiful sunsets and the simple opportunity to unwind. Literally less than 50 steps to the sand and water, this 2000 square foot home is not a party condo, but a wonderfully appointed retreat for families and groups looking to get away to the warmth of sun and sand with out paying huge luxury hotel bills! It is located on the 2nd floor with a full loft on the third floor.
This home offers 4 full bedrooms and if you stay once, you’ll want to come back to this same location. The kitchen is well appointed, the rooms are comfortable and roomy, the living room has space for everyone to meet and share. Four bedrooms are equipped with a T.V.s Wireless Internet access is also included. The Kitchen is fully equipped with a large refrigerator (ice maker and cold water dispenser), gas range with convection ovens in both sttove and microwave, 5 burner stove top, toaster oven, dishwasher, coffee maker and Vitamix blender.
We are 8 blocks from the grocery store and pharmacy, 1/2 blocks from the ice cream shop, 1 block from Pier South Resort . Located inside of the Piersouth Resort is our beautiful D'ames Spa where you will enjoy your relaxing massages and facials you can also add waxing to your services. Also inside of the hotel is Sammy's Wood Fire Pizza, Toasters and Sushi, 1 1/2 is The Brigantine Seafood restaurant with great happy hours, 2 blocks is the Imperial Beach wooden pier and the famous Tin Fish eatery to enjoy a variety of fish tacos and a pleasant walk to the Tijuana Wildlife Refuge and Estuary, a RAMSAR site and one of the foremost reserves in California, with its hiking and biking trails.
Imperial Beach offers easy access to San Diego – we are 25 minutes drive from Knott’s Soak City, 20 minutes to the famous San Diego Zoo, 20 minutes to Sea World, 20 minutes to the airport, 10 minutes to Mexico and 1 minute to the beach! While the pictures tell much of the story, this condo is just next door to Katy's Cafe' the more popular cafe in town famous for their biscuits and gravy. Our beaches are well kept, clean and not over crowded. People of Imperial Beach are friendly and lyed back and they welcome you to enjoy their little piece of paradise.

Christine was a great host! The condo was clean and well stocked. The beds were comfy and you’re just a few steps to the beach. She provides beach chairs and towels and there’s some great restaurants within walking distance. The electric car charger was a game changer and much appreciated!!

Christine was a wonderful host. We had the best time waking up and walking right out to the beach and collecting shells. The food in the area was amazing too.

Christine was awesome! She checked in on us periodically but was not intrusive.Pros: Great location, comfortable bedsCons: Never mentioned in listing that this was upstairs. Several tripping hazards (runners on stairs not secured and area rugs with corners turned up). Food was left in the refrigerator, dirty dishes left in the dishwasher, and dusty furniture made for an unwelcome start. The living room furniture did not seat 4 comfortably. There was no booklet or instruction sheet left as is the case with all other VRBO rentals.Still all in all, we had a very good time.

I’ve stayed at several VRBO properties, most beachfront. This was my first not-so-great experience.
Pros:
Fantastic location! Easy to get to anywhere by car. It usually took me 15 minutes to get downtown. We’re bird watchers and hikers so being able to walk to the Estuary was really great.
Open layout of the kitchen/dining/living room and deck make for a really big area for a large group. The kitchen has lots of counter space and seating. (Be aware all the windows and deck face inland, though)
Nice bedrooms - the loft bdrm is really spacious and has a private bathrm.
Cons:
Not clean. Towels are stained and some shredding. Some hand towels appeared to not have been washed since used last. Something splattered down one of the bathroom walls. Several stains on the couch and the cracks between the couch pads were full of food crumbs. Kitchen utensil drawers dirty with crumbs and food spills. Ceiling fans so dusty we didn’t dare turn them on. Electric teapot had water in it from last use. Dishes in the cupboards needed to be rewashed. A leaf from a fake plant stuffed in the ice maker.
Poor communication/unclear instructions: Very little for check-in instructions beyond “owner will meet you at the property.” The owner did not meet us at the property. When I inquired, they gave me a garage door code. I was confused so asked if our parking space was in the garage. The answer I received: “ is all alriggt”. I’m used to a binder or paper posted on the refrigerator or left out on the counter with helpful instructions about the house - What is ok to use, what is not, where to find important items, etc. There was nothing. It took us two days to find the keys for the front door. We were told to take out the garbage at checkout. No problem… but take it out WHERE? We walked our recycling to the beach to put it in the city containers. Pretty sure our landfill waste was put in someone else’s container - not sure.
The beach was closed the entire week due to sewage contaminated water. Obviously out of the owner’s hands, but a heads-up would have been nice.
Low water pressure in all the showers.
Slow Wifi - we ended up using my hotspot the entire week and watching tv/movies on our IPads because the TV would continually freeze up.
Not a con for us, but just a heads-up: There are a lot of stairs. Three full sets of stairs. From the garage to the main floor, the front door to main floor, and main floor to the loft bedroom.
