The town centre is a lively hub of activity, featuring a blend of historic landmarks, boutique shops, inviting cafés, and vibrant street performers.

At the heart of Stratford-upon-Avon lies the magnificent Royal Shakespeare Theatre, an iconic venue dedicated to the works of the Bard himself. The theatre hosts world-class productions of Shakespearean plays and other classic dramas, drawing theatre enthusiasts from all corners of the globe. For those seeking to delve deeper into Shakespeare’s life and legacy, the Shakespeare Birthplace Trust offers a compelling journey through his childhood home.

Beyond the theatres, numerous galleries, museums, and independent art studios showcase a diverse range of creative talents. Visitors can also explore a variety of festivals and events that take place throughout the year, often inspired by the works of Shakespeare. Stratford-upon-Avon boasts a thriving culinary scene. From traditional English pubs serving hearty fare to fine dining establishments offering gourmet experiences, there’s a culinary option to suit every palate.

We booked The Byre very last minute for a jousting experience we were doing. The weather was awful the weekend we were there. Torrential rain for 3 solid days. The Byre was warm and cosy and inviting to come back to after a day out in the wet! Beds were comfortable, although twin not a double. Because of Covid we brought all our own food and self catered and the kitchen has everything you could need. Most importantly the cottage was immaculately clean. Every Covid precaution had been taken and we felt safe. The hosts were lovely letting us check out late, but gave us our privacy. If we are in the area again would certainly stay here again.
