An abundance of wildlife is attracted to the water and the view through the large glass windows from the living room across the lake is delightful. There are seating areas dotted around the lake for relaxing and viewing. Nearby is the traditional market town of Kirkby Stephen, which was the first town in Cumbria to be accredited with ’Walkers are Welcome’. There are many walking and cycling opportunities in the area, plus the famous and scenic Settle to Carlisle railway line runs through Kirkby Stephen. The Eden Valley is perfectly placed for touring the Lake District, Yorkshire Dales, Teasdale and Durham, Hadrian’s Wall and the Scottish border. Shop, pub and restaurant 3 miles.

A lovely relaxing place to stay.watching the geese and other wildlife on the lake made our stay even more enjoyable. We will certainly be booking again.

The cottage was clean and tidy. It felt like a well loved home.
The view onto the lake in the garden was lovely and it attracted plenty of wildlife for us to watch.
With no real light polution the night skys looked great.
The area directly around the cottage was quiet, a real escape.
A short drive away you will find pubs, cafes and local/high street name shops.
