This excellent accommodation is next to the owner’s working farm and a small registered five caravan site, ideal for those wishing to experience the delights of country life. The cottage is within reach of the attractions of the North York Moors National Park, the Heritage Coastline and the Vale of York. Cycle the quiet byways and lanes or walk the numerous footpaths and enjoy this idyllic location. Days out can be had at Nunnington Hall, Duncombe Park and Castle Howard, with a public swimming pool and sports complex available at Ampleforth College, there is also a municipal golf course at Kirkbymoorside. The Eden Camp army museum and the North York Moors Steam Railway are also close at hand providing other interesting alternatives. Shopping can be done in the welcoming small town of Kirkbymoorside 5 minutes away by car and there are several tea rooms and good restaurants in this lovely area. There is a pub within 2 miles.

Enjoyed my stay in this rural location as my daughter and her family were at HPB Rosedale Abbey - possibly a bit further away from Rosedale than I had anticipated and was a surprise to find the SatNav sent me the shortest route down a very steep hill.

We had an excellent 7 night stay in Pear Tree Cottage, the cottage was very well equipped, far better than other cottages we have stayed in. The owner was lovely and very helpful. The whole place was very clean and tidy - we can't wait to go back for another stay.

lovely cottage, lovely owner, home from home. It would be lovely to get fresh supplies from the farm and fresh bread daily if this were possible, this would be the icing on a very nice cake
