About this house rental
AREA:
This charming home sits in the middle of five wooded acres in sunny Carmel Valley, just 2 miles from Carmel Valley Village. So, while the home's proximity to nature is one of its biggest draws, the nearby village offers several good restaurants, a market, and numerous wine-tasting rooms. The property borders the Garland Ranch Regional Park and its Kahn Ranch Addition, allowing unspoiled views and easy access to miles of hiking trails. The artful character of the home and the surrounding oak woodland create a pleasant, deeply relaxing environment.
HOUSE:
The two-bedroom, two-bath Main House and its detached Office/Studio can comfortably accommodate up to six guests. The board-and-batten structures have an early-California style, but large windows and vaulted ceilings give them a rustic-modern feel. The Main House comfortably sleeps four adults.
The Main House bedrooms are located on the lower level. One bedroom has a queen bed, and the other has a king bed (convertible to two twin beds). Each bedroom has a convenient en-suite dressing room, equipped with a sink set in a Brazilian granite countertop. There are two bathrooms in the Main House: one downstairs between the two bedrooms (with glass enclosed shower), and one upstairs off the living room (with jetted tub and shower). Both bathrooms feature limestone tiles and Brazilian granite countertops.
The spacious, well-equipped gourmet kitchen has black marble countertops and a six-burner, dual-fuel pro range. You may be surprised at how often you decide to stay in and cook dinner.
The Main House living room has a comfortable feel with its vaulted ceiling, large windows, ample sunshine, and wonderful views. A fireplace adds to the coziness when temperatures drop.
The Office/Studio, just steps away from the Main House, has a small living room (with seating, writing desk, and TV), a bedroom with queen bed, and a full bathroom with glass-enclosed shower.
SERVICES:
AT&T cell service works quite well at the house. However, those with other providers may wish to use WiFi calling while on the property. We have satellite Internet service and TV streaming.
OUTDOORS:
The jetted spa on the deck adjacent to the Office Studio has spectacular views over the oak-studded hills. A soak in its hot water is a real treat.
You can wander in the mediterranean garden among numerous outdoor seating areas and hammocks, relaxing with a glass of wine and taking in the seasonal bloom of lavender, aloe, lupine, and sage.
GUESTS:
This home is best suited for those looking for a relaxed, refined experience in nature. We are looking for low impact, quiet guests. It's a place to enjoy one another's company in a beautiful country setting, yet have the amenities of the Village only a short drive away. For day trips, Carmel Beach is 30 mins away while Monterey Bay Aquarium is 40 mins away.

This was perfect for being able to relax in nature with the family. When we wanted to go to the peninsula, it was a 30-40 minute drive with lovely views.

We had a really nice time! Unfortunately there were two days of power outages in the neighborhood which had nothing to do with the house or property manager but did decrease our ability to stay at the house and enjoy it. Other than that we had a nice time!!

Overall, a lovely stay at this property
Upon arrival – the house was clean and was as shown in the photos.
The staircase in the main house, and the property itself can provide challenges to those with mobility issues.
The photos listed on the site are accurate. However, it made the kitchen and living room seem grander than it was.
The two bedrooms are accessible on a lower level, only accessible by a steep staircase. Given the two bedrooms are below the main floors, there was a huge delta in temperature. This can be remedied with the AC/HEAT in the home.
The highly advertised gardens on the property are beautiful, but are difficult to traverse to see all the landscape.
The property also offers a spa/tub in one of the bathrooms. But it hasn’t been run in awhile as brown water came out.
The property provides satellite tv, streaming options and wifi. Unfortunately, the wifi speed is spotty at best given it’s satellite internet.
As mentioned in other reviews, the property is off the beaten path, in a single lane narrow road. I would not advise traversing back and forth into town.
