Design-forward beach house with bright indoor-outdoor living, private patio for sunsets, A/C, 2 full baths, and in-unit washer/dryer. ***Important loft note: The loft is a unique feature guests love, especially families (older kids think it’s the coolest) and younger couples. Because it’s accessed by a ladder, the loft is use at your own risk and is not suitable for children who need supervision, guests with mobility limitations or for anyone uncomfortable with ladders/heights.

Parking & Access
- Parking: Street parking is available nearby on Manhattan Avenue
- For 30+ day stays, we can arrange a dedicated parking spot (details provided after booking)
- Stairs: While no stairs in the house, there are several steps, various levels, and a ladder for the loft. Please plan accordingly.

Noise & Privacy Expectations (important)
- This is a prime oceanfront location on The Strand. You’ll see and hear the beach world: walkers, cyclists, weekend energy, and the ocean
- The home is best enjoyed with windows/doors open for sea breeze, which can also mean you may hear normal Strand activity, especially on weekends and in summer
- No parties/events. Quiet hours are strictly respected. Hosts live literally next door :)

Guest access
You'll have access to the entire house, including the 2 bedrooms + loft, two bathrooms, kitchen, living room, and patio. Enjoy amenities like beach access, a BBQ grill, beach chairs, umbrellas, boogie and surfboards, and a fully equipped kitchen. The private entrance ensures your privacy, and you'll find everything you need for a comfortable stay, from bed linens to a washer and dryer. You'll receive the door codes before check-in.

The Glass House in Manhattan Beach goes down as one of our all-time favorite family vacation experiences. Property owners, JR and his wife Susan, are the most hospitable and friendly hosts you could ever encounter — beyond accommodating and a joy to work with … I could go on and on. Their property, which fronts the Pacific Ocean and an immaculate beach, is nothing short of stunning. Needless to say, it was comfortable, and provided the perfect perch for relaxing and unbeatable sunsets. The photos that you see here on Vrbo are 100% accurate, and even then they don’t quite do justice to the experience in person. I almost don’t want to disclose what a magical place Manhattan Beach is. I can’t help but feel I will see the locals/nearby residents in my memories years from now. The great thing is, I won’t have to conjure those acquaintances, as I expect to be back again very soon. I suppose I should also mention how conveniently located the Glass House is to all things Manhattan Beach and so many other Los Angeles area venues. We were always within walking distance of shops, restaurants, pubs and markets. If this sounds at all appealing or alluring to you, check it out. JR will do a much better job than I at selling you on the merits of this incomparable gem. Here’s hoping we get to return for many more unforgettable moments.

This oceanfront home is absolutely beautiful and is minutes away from shops, restaurants and bars. The hosts were so welcoming and resourceful! We hope to return to this extraordinary property in the near future!

Can't say enough about this lovely home on the beach. My wife and I enjoyed a very relaxing week celebrating her 70th birthday. We were not the only admirers, many people walking the "Strand" would stop to admire. Sadly, we had to inform them that we were only renting. This place is truly unique! JR and his wife ( the owners) could not have been more helpful. We plan to return next year.
