Private, self contained, romantic accommodation in the heart of Tuscany set in a lovely medieval village half an hour from the sea, 65km from Pisa and 96 km from Florence.
The apartment is on the second floor of a former Bishop's palace located in the historical centre of Montecatini Val di Cecina.
It is a perfect getaway for couples or small families to relax and explore the wealth of history in Tuscany.

This was a great stay for our honeymoon. We had some trouble finding the building but a local was very kind in helping us find our way. There is a small hike UP the streets to get to the apartment, so not ideal for some disabilities. We loved the view and the feel of the city. We hope to return to Montecatini!

The apartment is a charming studio with a lovely view over Val di Cecina. It was clean and beautifully presented. Montecatini is a small town on top of a hill with very narrow cobbled streets. It has two restaurants and a bar. It also has a bakery, a grocery shop and a pharmacy. It has a market on Friday. It is an ideal point from which to explore Tuscany Volterra is quite close and all the major cities of the region are within two hours drive. It's important to be aware that accessing the studio involves a steep climb through a part of the town and then up the stairs in the building in which the apartment is located. It's well worth it but might not suit if suffering from a disability.

If, as a couple, you are looking for a few days total tranquillity after fighting your way through the scrum of tourists in the Tuscan hotspots like Florence and Sienna or on your way back to Pisa airport from Venice then this is exactly what you need to book.Comfortable, clean and a little quirky Zitas apartment is wonderful and with a view like this every day it works on every level. If you feel like cooking you can and it is well appointed with crockery, cutlery, glassware and kitchen utensils. Overnight parking is a short walk away but temporary parking is only yards away. The village bar is great and the restaurants positively cheap in comparison to the touristic areas.By all means go to Volterra which is only about 9 kms from here and well worth the effort but youd be mad to stay there, Montecatini IS the place to stay.
