No surprises, very accommodating.

The great parts: This place was clean, the bed was very comfortable, and the location is perfect (only a block away from the WWII museum!) The air conditioning also works surprisingly well for an older building! Some things to remember: This is an old historic building. Floors creak. The appliances aren't state of the art. The bathroom doorknob is almost falling off which means the door doesn't always close. There is a small hole in the bathroom ceiling. This is a second floor apartment, so you will hear every little step taken by the people above you. The front balcony isn't accessible, only the back balcony.WARNING: if you are parking in the garage, read the directions carefully! We went through the door on the back wall instead of the door on the right wall. We ended up in a locked (and dark) alley surrounded by high walls and locked gates. That certainly was not a good way to start our stay.

I would give this apartment a 5 stars for customer service. Our host was so attentive and helpful. He met us at the apartment even though we were late getting there and explained everything completely. He was always just a text or phone call away and immediately responsive. The owner's rep, Kevin, was heads above what I have come to expect over the past five years we have come to visit our son on numerous occasions and rented in all areas of the city. The unit was clean and pretty much as shown in the listing. I have shared my concerns with the owner as to improvements. However, they are minor and this property is such a great value for it's location. We could not have asked for a better location. Two blocks to the WWII museum and other amazing art museums, one block to the Julia street art galleries. If you want a true local flavor, try LaCasita bar on Julia Street, great happy hour. The appetizers and drinks are worth the visit. Not to mention Pesche and our favorite Cochon, just minutes away. It is a wonderful walk to the Quarter, maybe 20 minutes, through beautiful historic buildings in the business district. We spent all day and not enough time at the amazing WWII museum and our tired feet were so happy it was only about 2 blocks back! I even forgot to mention the parking. That is such a huge plus if you are driving or renting a car or visiting someone with a car. My only reason for not four stars are the minor concerns I shared with the owner (I am a very spoiled visitor to NO) and that it is not quite ready for this level but given the price it is a true taste of New Orleans charm,. It is a very local, architecturally correct building. With only a few minor improvements, I would definitely rent this unit again. Thank you for sharing your place. June
