About this house rental
Villa Fortuna is a typical Amalfi Coast apartment in Praiano with domed ceilings. The district where it is located is called Vettica Maggiore. Going down a flight of 70 steps you reach the entrance. The apartment has been recently renovated and is furnished in a modern style with some antique pieces. It comes with 3 double bedrooms(two with a matrimonial bed, the third one has a matrimonial and a single bed), two bathrooms with shower. Furthermore there is a wide living room with sofas, seats, internet wi-fi and a satellite television set, a dining zone with a marble table for eight guests and a kitchen furnished with washing machine, a refrigerator, microwave, electric oven, dishwashing machine and gas stove. From the terrace you have an unobstructed view onto the sea and the coastline and can enjoy the amazing sunsets. Partly shaded by a pergola with a reed roof, it is furnished with sun loungers, tables and chairs. You enter it either through the kitchen or through the living room. Thanks to its protection it is particularly suitable for children.
In the centre of Praiano, at 500 meters from the house, there are bars, groceries with home delivery, shops and restaurants. If you do not like to walk, just use the frequent and unexpensive public transportation service. The local bus, as well as the SITA bus for Sorrento, Amalfi, Positano and Ravello stops next to the house. The closest beach is La Gavitella, at about 400 meters and also the famous Sentiero degli Dei can be reached easily.

Three couples staying on the Amalfi coast. Praiano is a nice quiet town. The view from the patio is spectacular. We sat out there and drank wine in the evening. The kitchen has a coffee maker and expresso pot but its the old fashioned kind. They don't stock coffee so you need to bring it with you or stop at the small market in town. The steps are many and it makes luggage transport a work out but that would not stop us from returning!!!

If you are after a quieter amalfi coast experience then praiano is much better than positano, so much more real and so much more laid back. House is a short walk from town, some may like that, some not. The town itself is very spread out. The accomodation is fine, fantastic outlook, plenty of room, nice and quiet, good kitchen, slightly old fashioned, but that maybe an Italian thing. Clean and tidy. A few little details such as coffee/milk being there on arrival could make the place go from very nice to excellent. The manager was easy to get hold of and fixed the wifi modem when it was broken, returning it the next morning.,which no kids seem to be able to live without these days. All in all a very enjoyable stay., but one word of caution, which is not specific to this house, if you are self driving the parking can be a nightmare.
