About this house rental
Our pet friendly (one pet upon approval) home and, folks tell us with their wonderful reviews, very charming and warm old island home - with recent historic designation - is located a few yards from the beautiful 100-yard path to the beach and is just 20 minutes from Charleston. Kitchen and dining equipment, beach chairs, an outdoor BBQ, towels, linens, laundry room.
Sullivan's Island is across the Inland Waterway from Charleston with semi-tropical terrain, wide, sandy beaches, historic Fort Moultrie, a lively and varied restaurant area, public tennis courts and an old-time playground with grandstand gazebo.

Go crabbing, fishing, kayaking, canoeing, windsurfing, and sailing in the ocean or in the inlets and creeks leading to the inland waterway. Sullivan's Island is the site of novels of many well-known authors: Edgar Allen Poe (The Gold Bug), DuBose Heyward (Porgy and Bess), and Pat Conroy (The Prince of Tides).
Just 9 yards away from the footpath to the beautiful beach on the Atlantic Ocean, the duplex's upper level has private entrances, four bedrooms (one King, two with double beds, one with twin beds), two indoor bathrooms, two outdoor showers (for cooling and rinsing off), and comfortably accommodates eight people. Living room, dining room; Central Air Conditioning/Heat. Large screened front porch; Rooftop Deck with 360 degree views.
The large, screened, front porch serves as a second living area. A winding staircase at the end of the porch leads to the rooftop deck.

SoClose to the beautiful beaches and easy to get to town. The house was clean and had everything we needed along with a great response time from the owners! Our family of 6 was quite comfortable!!

First of all, if I could give SIX STARS for location and responsiveness of host I certainly would! This house was actually perfect for my siblings who came to visit me (I live just over the SI bridge in Mt Pleasant) from all over the country. The beach is literally across the street, the neighborhood super quiet, the downstairs guests so very nice, and I understand Rachel was very responsive with my sister who contacted her separately. The beds and furnishings were cozy and comfy and old...like you are staying at your eccentric grandma's place at the beach. But it badly needs some TLC and a deep clean and a paint job and potentially some mold remediation. My BIL has asthma and the mold was really a problem for him. Take care of that and you'd get 5 stars all the way around and I would book you again in a heartbeat! Thanks for a lovely stay--and I hate to even bring the issues up here but for those with breathing issues it can really be dangerous! xxoo

This historical Sullivan's beach house is simply WONDERFUL! We had a family reunion with young and old and the house was PERFECT! It is right across from the beach path, bike ride to the town and filled with amenities like washer/dryer, complete kitchen, beach chairs and it is absolutely adorable to boot! Our kids loved putting their kids to bed and then enjoying the rooftop deck!! The host is also fabulous! She is quick to respond, answers all your questions and accommodates specific requests when possible. We had friends visit and they can't wait to use this very special home as well! We couldn't have asked for more!!!! (I would also add that it would be charming for a romantic get-away for a couple too!! :))

Very old home in need of repairs. Found bugs in kitchen and there was no washer/dryer as mentioned in the listing. The location was great- quick walk to the boardwalk and beach. Kitchen was very well stocked.
