Maggi’s Home from Home

The room and adjoining bathroom are small, but perfectly adequate particularly for a solo traveler, with a large wardrobe for hanging clothes. Maggi and her husband Sam are very welcoming and helpful, making one feel more like a house guest than a tenant. I will definitely consider booking again for subsequent visits to Sheffield.

Maggie and her husband are amazing hosts. They gave us a tour around their beautiful garden, made us delicious breakfast and gave great advice on our Peak District trip. Everything was very clean and comfy. Location seems to be a little bit far from city center but there is a good bus connection and the landscape around house and view are amazing so it’s totally worth it. Thank you again Maggie for having us!

My girlfriend and I were staying here for one night with my dog and it was absolutely perfect for what we wanted. The house is lovely, comfortable, and very well located for getting to the Peak District (as we were there for), but the main stand out for this stay is Maggi herself. She is so kind, hospitable and accommodating. She was generous enough to drive us to the start of our walk on the first day, and then even further the next day: all the way to Sheffield Station! She is lovely, very intelligent, and always interesting to talk to and has so many wonderful and insightful things to say. We briefly met Sam as well, who was lovely also. I would definitely recommend staying for breakfast as well, and trying her kippers and her delicious homemade jams. Brilliant for dogs as well, and meeting their beautiful dog Flossy was lovely. All in all a perfect one night stay for a great walking weekend.
