About this cottage rental
This charming cottage located in this family holiday home, all in exposed stone, will seduce you!
With a living area of 50 m2, this gite has on the ground floor an equipped and integrated kitchen (with microwave, dishwasher), an independent living room (convertible sofa bed for 2 additional sleepers) with TV and a bathroom bathroom (shower, WC and washing machine). The bedroom is fitted upstairs with a double bed.
Internet connection is provided.
You will have a garden furniture with barbecue.
This cottage is preferably intended for 2 people because it only has one bedroom with a large bed. It can possibly accommodate a maximum of 4 people given the convertible sofa in the living room.
A deposit of 350 euros will be requested on arrival and will be refunded after inventory
Sheets and towels not provided: additional services available
Cleaning at the end of the stay is a service which can be provided if you wish
The shops are nearby and the baker passes by his truck every morning (except Sunday and Monday) and stops in front of the gîte if you need to.
CHATELAY is a small, quiet village in the Val d´Amour, near the Chaux forest and the Loue river
- Located 2 km from Chissey sur Loue with its church from the end of the 12th century and classified as a historic monument.
- 5 km from Arc-et-Senans, with the Royal Saltworks, classified as a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1982.
- close to Arbois, a city of history, culture and famous people, notably the Maison de Pasteur, giving this city world renown. Arbois is also located in a remarkable natural site of vineyards, forests, crossed by a 1st category river "La Cuisance" which rises at the foot of the majestic remote Planches (Planches caves) and which benefits from the classification " Natura 2000 »
- and Salins les Bains, spa town classified as one of the most beautiful detours in France and recently you will be able to discover the old saltworks, also listed as World Heritage by Unesco since 2009, and its salt museum as well as beautiful walks under the strong or a tree climbing activity
- near Ornans, town located in the Loue valley and which inspired the painter Gustave Courbet (new Courbet museum which opened in 2011)
- Château Chalon: pretty village to see if you come to the region
- The region of the 4 lakes (Narlay, Ilay, Petit and Grand Maclu are the lakes dominated by the "Pic de l'Aigle"): to see also
- The other closest cities are: Dole, Besançon, Pontarlier, Saint Claude, Poligny, Dijon, Beaune
Ideal place for walks in the forest, swimming on the banks of the Loue, hiking (l'Echappée Jurassienne, route of the major sites of the Jura (300km from Dole to Saint-Claude via Les Rousses ,, which recently joined the network) of the Great Pedestrian Routes of France in the same way as the Chemins de Compostelle, the Stevenson Way, the GR20 or even the Grande Traversée du Jura…), bike or canoe trips and discover the lakes.

A lovely gite for a quiet stay in the countryside and only a few minutes drive from the nearest supermarket offering a range of fresh and local produce.
Our hosts were charming and friendly despite our lack of facility with their language.
The gite is well equipped with everything we could need and in such an exceptionally hot summer, it was a delight to enjoy the cool of the interior of this beautiful building.

The owners were delightful. Although the house was very well equipped, smart and refreshingly cool in hot weather, it was disappointing that the only outside space was next to the road. A photo shows the owners' garden but this private space was unavailable to us. Relaxing, sunbathing and eating outside were all compromised, because of this. I would advise checking availability of canoe/kayak and bicycles because we didn't see any, only bicycles used daily by the owners. Certainly none were offered. Perhaps the difference in language was a barrier to us clarifying the situation.
