About this house rental
Located in the lower Ardèche near Vallon Pont D'arc, the Pont d'Arc cave, a replica of the Chauvet cave, the Ardèche gorges and the Pont D'arc gorges, villages such as: Orgnac l'Aven, Labeaume, Balazuc, Voguë with its castle from another era without forgetting Aubenas. Very close to Barjac with its flea markets, Uzes, the Cèze valley, Nimes, Montpellier. This villa is surrounded by woods, with no direct neighbors and about 2 km from all shops. The owners live on a neighboring plot to help you if necessary. They chose to make this place a place conducive to calm and serenity.

The house is very bright and offers beautiful volumes. Swimming pool of 12 m X 6.5 m unfenced, secured by an alarm. Enclosed grounds of 4,300 m2. Shelter for 2 cars. It is the ideal starting point for hiking or mountain biking. Possibility of horseback riding in the woods, 2 mm tree climbing, Indy Parc, Canoes on the Ardèche, and many activities nearby ... The markets of Barjac on Friday, Vallon on Thursday and Uzes superb market on Saturday morning. For a stay longer than 1 week, a discount will be granted. Ask for a quote.

Pool is great, although a bit cold when we stayed. It’s plenty deep enough to jump and dive off the wooden walkway.
Good location for exploring the Ardeche Gorge. It’s only 2km to Salavas which has a bar, bakery, and newsagent, although we never walked as it’s along a busy road.
Only a couple of minor negatives :
The house is very near the main road which is pretty busy and quite noisy at times.
The table tennis table needs a new net and a couple of new bats and balls.
It would be nice to have some more games - maybe pétanque, darts, badminton, board games.
Christine is a lovely host and overall we would definitely recommend provided you’re happy to drive to all amenities.
Canoeing down the gorge was amazing and is a must do activity - we also liked the village of Labaume and the river was still warm enough for swimming in late September

We stayed in this house during August and were overwhelmed by the spaciousness of the property. The garden is amazing, so is the pool and the kids spend hours jumping in the pool from the wooden board. We had our dog with us and were very happy to find out that the property is safely fenced in!!
Though the house is very spacious and clean also, it is not very well equipped. Only 1 towel/person, no pool towels, no curtains in living and dining areas (though curtain rods), no place mats, kitchen very badly equipped (cooking needs more than pots and plates…), etc. We felt like the owner had taken out everything personal after moving out to the house next door.
With just a little bit of detail though the house could be turned into a very special place again.

We stayed at Christine’s house for the first half of August -- when the weather was very very hot. Thankfully, the wonderful property is fully air-conditioned and has a terrific swimming pool for cooling down. There is a huge garden, not really shown in the photos, so there is plenty of outdoor space. There’s even a large garage for the car. Christine could not have been more welcoming, she met us on arrival and sent regular messages to check that all was ok.
The property is located in a great area, close to the Ardeche river, with many villages, caves and other attractions all within 30 minutes. The house is a perfect haven away from the busy tourist spots! You can also walk straight from the front door into the surrounding hills and explore the forest paths and dry river beds, you could even walk to the famous Pont D’Arc in about 90 minutes.
It’s a long drive from the UK, but very much worth the effort!
