About this house rental
Just 40 minutes from Florence you find our 15th century little buidings, Arco and La Cantina di Bacco, both belonging to a historical farming estate , officially certified for being very ancient by the Chamber of Commerce of Florence . As a matter of fact the "Fattoria" is in the hands of the same family since 1645. The two ancient buildings are part of a hamlet nestled on a hilltop above Londa, a quaint little village 15 minutes drive away in the Chianti Rufina region. From their idyllic, secluded position one can enjoy the view of the Sieve valley and the Mugello woodland which well deserves the name of the" green heart of Tuscany". La Cantina , a converted haybarn, and Arco, a converted oil-mill have been restored using typical materials such as terracotta floors and chestnut exposed beams .The original stone floors at Arco have all been carefully preserved. The location is ideal for day trips to the many historical Tuscan cities and to the coast or just for a relaxing holiday in a peaceful unspoiled setting among olive groves . If you choose to come with friends or family our houses are a perfect solution: close but quite independent and private with their own private gardens, shady and sunny spots and beautiful views. The houses are furnished with antique and local furniture which complete their rustic charm.

Adjoining kitchen, fully equipped with 4 gas hob, oven, fridge/freezer, toaster, kettle, express coffee maker, washing machine.
Upstairs: bedroom with double bed, bureau, and wardrobe. French window looking on a patio.
Bathroom with shower, basin, bidet. Everything tastefully decorated with warm touches.
Manicured garden with grapes pergola. Spectacular views.
Sunbeds and barbecue. Central internet only in the pool area
Valdisieve and its rolling hills is especially famous for its wine: the Chianti Rufina, which you can taste in the numerous wine farms along the Strada del Vino Chianti Rufina e Pomino and to which a museum, Il Museo del Vino , is dedicated in Rufina (at La Villa di Poggio Reale).
All the area is well-known for its good choice of restaurants, for its delicatessens and for its extra-virgin oil . We are oil producers and boast one of the finest qualities of oil in the region. We also make wine and a giuded tour in our Vineyard with
Last but not least, if you come at the end of the summer you ll be able to taste an excellent quality of peach " La Pesca Regina di Londa" To this quality Londa dedicates a festival in the second week of September.

Wir haben die Zeit hier sehr genossen, die Natur und Aussicht sind wunderschön. Die Vermieter ausgesprochen freundlich. Das Häuschen ist schön und zum Kochen ist alles da auch wenn die Küche klein ist. Der Garten ist top! Im Haus kann es unten sehr kalt sein - auch bei warmen Temperaturen braucht man warme Kleidung. Im Dorf findet man Lebensmittel und alles was man braucht. In der Umgebung gibt es viel zu unternehmen - man muss allerdings etwas Fahrzeit und viele Serpentinen einplanen.

Arco was a charming little cottage, about a 10 minute drive up a mountain from Londa. The road to get to the cottage is a narrow 2-way road with lots of switchbacks, which took us a bit of time to get accustomed to driving. However, the views from the cottage were stunning. We also loved spending time at the pool, which was just a few minutes away. It was fairly easy to get to Florence from here, and the restaurants in the area serve delicious food.
It was nice having a washing machine available, but laundry took longer than expected since the washer kept tripping the circuit breaker. Also remember to bring your own detergent, as it is not supplied.
Overall, we enjoyed our stay here. Maria Luisa, Paola and their family have been very nice to us and they were also easy to reach whenever we had any questions. Thanks for having us!

Nous sommes tombés amoureux de cette partie tant sauvage et belle de la Toscane que nous ne connaissions pas encore. Les vallées, les petits villages perchés, tant de châteaux et le chianti partout. Le village de Londa est très agréable également, tout y est présent, épicerie, boucherie, légumes des petits producteurs régionaux , le miel de chataignier et d'acaccia. La maison est petite mais il y a tout, le parc avec la piscine est très beau et la vue... Nous avons été bercés par le chant des cerf et des chouettes, unique !!! Perdez-vous dans les petits villages, pour certains presque inhabités, mais sublimes ça vaut le détour. Beau retour sur soi grâce à la tranquillité infinie de la position retirée de la maison. Loin du tumulte de Florence mais près de tout pour visiter... Poppi, Arezzo, San Gimignano, Rapolano Terme etc, autant de belles visites avec de nombreux monuments à photographier sans la cohue estivale. Fin Septembre mais grand beau et plus de 30 ° toute la semaine quelle chance !!!
