I always enjoy staying at this olde worlde pub in such a perfect spot. The staff are always friendly and helpful and the rooms are always cleaned to a good standard.
Unfortunately this time I was let down by my single bed. So uncomfortable, couldn’t work out why then realised I could feel the springs sticking in my ribs. Worst nights sleep I’ve had there and mice in the rafters are a bit off putting (although a couple of thuds on the wall soon shut them up!) but like I say, usually it’s lovely and I appreciate what I get for the budget I’m on, as visit fairly often.

Nice cosy room, good facilities. Lovely white towels and bed linen, comfortable bed.
The room I stayed in overlooks the road and was noisy. Also there was a loud intermittent noise throughout the night from outside the building the that may have been from a external air filtration system but as I'm a light sleeper this woke me up through the night. I had requested a quiet room upon booking but this probably wasn't an option. Ear plugs would be an essential if I stayed here again.
