Location was great. Easy walk to the old town “Big Basel”.
Easy to get to the Basel SBB thanks to the nearby tram stop.
Clean apartment.
Very thorough intro and overview provided by the host.
Transit card was very useful.
Really enjoy the mid 80s aesthetic of the colors of bright red, white and black. It’s sort of my groove.
There is access to a washer and dryer in the basement, very clean and functional units, very much appreciated.
She provided a plethora of coffee pods for the coffee machine.
Two specific things I would suggest changes in:
Bed and bedding:
The mattresses are quite thin and firm, and its cover is very coarse. Not from lack of fabric softener in the laundry but the material itself is quite course, almost like canvas. Not that comfortable to sleep on. But the comforters are great.
Shared shower:
We chose to use the hallway shared bathroom, and its shower has a showerhead with very good water pressure, but the showerhead is like 1000 sharp pins and needles trying to enter your skin. You have to really turn down the water flow almost to a trickle in order for it not to be a painful experience. I don’t consider that I have a special sensitive skin. Perhaps it’s like that to stop people from dawdling in the shower and wasting water? Please, for the comfort of future guests, change the showerhead to something that doesn’t have a feeling of pins and needles on your skin.

Being in a residential neighborhood, I was surprised on a Saturday night for the ambiance to be so noisy. There were crowds and a fight in the street out front for some reason, and somebody upstairs was playing movies with very booming bass very loudly until late.
