About this villa rental
Provencal house with stunning views of a green valley, the village of Gaujac and Gaujac Oppidum. The house has a beautiful private swimming pool to overflow and closed with a perimeter alarm. quiet and secluded. The house is located in the village of Connaux about 7 km from Bagnols sur Cèze, 20 km from Uzès, Pont du Gard, Castilllon Gard, Collias, 30 km from Avignon and its festival in July and 40 km Nimes. In the village you will find several shops as bakery, butcher, supermarket, greengrocer, chemist, newsagent etc. A large supermarket Carrefour is located in Bagnols sur Cèze.

The house has a warm interior:
Ground floor: living room with lounge and dining room, fully equipped kitchen (Nespresso coffee machine) with dining area. Patio doors from the kitchen and the living room have direct access to the terrace. WC. Laundry room with washer and dryer and extra freezer.
First floor: four bedrooms, three bedrooms with 2-pers (twin 140X190m and a bed to 160x200) and fourth (with 2 beds 80 x 200), two bathrooms, one with bath and one with shower, WC separated.
Exterior:
The house is located on a hill in a quiet residential area of the village, on a large plot of over 1000m2 with a beautiful view of the valley. Next to the house is a terrace (40m2) with pergolat, garden furniture and gas BBQ and next to the swimming pool 15m2 terrace with sun loungers, parasol. The swimming pool (max depth 1.70 m) is a heated pool and pool with a submerged beach. The house is located in a very quiet and intimate environment. There is a closed parking for 4 cars at the back of the house.

We had an excellent fortnight in this beautiful house. The terrace and pool were particularly welcome as we were there during the 2022 heatwave. The house is well placed for visits to Provence, the Ardeche and Montpellier, as well as Uzes and Nimes. Note that the house does have fans in the bedrooms (despite what an earlier review says). Mosquitoes were a bit of a nuisance but kept reasonably at bay with a coil on the terrace and plug ins at night. Overall I would strongly recommend this property.

Jessie and her husband were fantastic hosts, waited for 3 hours for us to arrive due to delayed flight and super quick to respond when we needed a doctor at the weekend. The house is a good size and the pin ball machine and 80’s loaded original jukebox are a great addition. Well equipped house with plenty of shade if needed in the garden should the sun deck by the pool be a bit too much!! The neighbours are close and unfortunately on two nights (of 14) decided to play loud music until the early hours but we may well have been unlucky and it was a Saturday night on both occasions. I would definitely recommend this property, can easily sleep 8.

We had a wonderful holiday here in Provence! The owner was very understanding of our delayed arrival due to a car breakdown, thank you Jessie and Mr and Mrs Morrish for meeting us so late in the evening. The house was perfect, with stunning views across the countryside and was fully equipped with everything we needed and more. The beds were all comfortable and all rooms had plenty of storage. My grown up children enjoyed the super pool, as did we, it was much needed as we arrived during a heatwave. Thank you Agnes for looking after the pool, it was lovely to meet you. We spent many hours by the pool in the pretty garden and most evenings outside on the veranda. My husband enjoyed cooking on the barbecue. Connaux is a lovely village and had everything we needed. We walked to the bakery every morning to buy croissants for breakfast and anything else we might need. There is a green grocers, butchers, pharmacy, little supermarket, hairdressers in the village as well as a few restaurants. There is a big supermarket 10 minutes drive away in Bagnols -sur-cèze for bulky supplies.The village of Gaujac is visible across the valley from the house and is a short walk away, La Maison restaurant served a fabulous meal for our Anniversary. Everyone was really friendly and although we could only speak very basic French and most locals only speak a little English, everyone was very patient and we had lots of laughs making each other understood. As expected in the area, there are lots of vineyards where you can call in and taste their wines. We visited Vignerons de Gaujac (a short walk from the house), Vignobles Larguier in Tresques and Chateau Signac, both a short drive away. The villa is ideally situated for trips to the local tourist attractions. Avignon, Pont Du Gard, Nimes, Orange, Chateauneuf du Pape are all within a short driving distance and worth a visit. Altogether a fabulous holiday, perfect villa, beautiful area!! We didn't want to leave and will certainly be back! Thank you Jessie!
