Located just a 3-minute walk from the medieval village Castiglione di Garfagnana, Casa Massimo offers spacious rooms, a private garden, and a 9-meter pool exclusively for guests. This is the perfect spot for a summer retreat in one of Tuscany’s most picturesque villages. Enjoy stunning views of the historic Castello from the garden, which features mature trees for shade and a traditional wood-fired oven for pizza.
The villa includes two large bedrooms (one sleeps three), a generously sized living room, a well-equipped kitchen, and a bathroom with shower. Upon arrival, guests are welcomed with a hamper of fresh organic produce from the owner, Massimo, who also shares his homemade wine, olive oil, and cheese throughout your stay.
Guests visiting in late September or October have the unique chance to participate in the grape harvest and witness traditional winemaking.
Nestled in the heart of Garfagnana, often called 'Hidden Tuscany,' Castiglione is known for its breathtaking scenery and reputation as a center of musical excellence. Castelnuovo, the nearby market town, offers a variety of restaurants, cafes, and shops, as well as a lively weekly market.
The area is perfect for outdoor activities like mountain biking, horse riding, and gorge walking, all of which can be arranged through our local partners.

Beautiful village setting with amazingly kind host! Massimo lives upstairs but is not intrusive! Welcomed us with coffee and wine, When our relatives popped to see us, he offered them hospitality. Helpful through our broken Italian/English. Accommodation had every thing we needed and the pool was lovely and refreshing in the August heat! Love to return!

Great location, fabulous host, a very warm welcome. Massimo is a great host, ghere to help whenever needed and a welcoming host. Great space and set up with everyrhing you need. Lovely walk into town (even for little legs) with restaurants and cafes to choose from. Would love yo stay again

Or stay at the house was great and massimo is the most hospitable host we have ever met. At arrival there were the first necessities for breakfast and dinner. Massimo lives upstairs and the house is downstairs. As he has a different entrance you have your own space. The pool is for use only and you do not share this with anyone. There are local shops close by and the supermarket is 5-10 minutes by car. The pool is large and Massimo cleans it every two days. We got fresh fruits and eggs which were great! The interior is not very modern but comfortable and fits the ambience. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and would recommend to anyone. Please take into account that if you want to visit lucca and pisa that the drive is 1-1,5 hours. Thanks Massimo for a great week!! Grazie
