This is an old half timbered house, so cute! The two bedrooms are upstairs, with a toilet, and downstairs is the main bathroom with a shower, and a washing machine, and living room, dining/kitchen. The owner lives next door, so it's very easy to contact them, although we had no issues. There are many castle ruins to explore close by, and driving anywhere, you are driving through vineyards and small Alsatian villages with their half timbered houses and blue shutters. Down the street is a road we walked down every afternoon, with a soccer field and horses, gardens, etc. Rose bushes were everywhere.

We had a truly great week in Northern Alsace but were surprised to find that there was no hand-washing facility in the upstairs "bathroom" which consisted only of a toilet. There was in addition a shortage of toilet paper, soap, and washing-up liquid which meant that we needed to provide our own.
The house is very attractive, with spacious rooms, particularly the kitchen. However, this was let done by the fact that, of the five mugs provided, three were either cracked or chipped.
The setting is a village with no shops, in particular no boulangerie, all of which were a five-minute drive away. There is an excellent restaurant, "Les Cordons Bleus", with welcoming proprietors and lovely food (though closed on Mondays and Tuesdays) just a few minutes walk away and the village itself is most picturesque.
