Historic mansion 15th and 17th century completely restored and located in the heart of the city of Montmorillon (city of writing). It has a large private collection of regional artists represented in each. Great medieval vaulted room also available on request.
Great view from every room of the river and the old town, as well as a listed park.
The historic monument lying at the heart of the city, shops and activities are within walking distance.

Lots of dishes which was appreciate. The uncle of the property manager was very accomodating. One washroom only has a tub.

This is a gorgeous historic building, well restored and very comfortable, overlooking the river (which when we visited, in August, was shallow enough for children to paddle in). The town is calm and ancient, and there are stunning views of it from the property. The owner was very friendly and welcoming, and we’d love to come again.

Cadre magnifique, nous avons passé un excellent séjour dans cette demeure historique idéalement située en bordure de la Gartempe. Excellent accueil du propriétaire qui nous a fait partagé sa passion pour ce bel endroit.

Très belle demeure refaite à neuf et bien placée en centre ville. Nous y avons séjourné une semaine entre Noël et le jour de l'an et avons malheureusement eu très très froid. Le système de chauffage n'est pas adapté à la taille de la demeure, notamment dans la pièce de vie. Nous avons dû acheter un convecteur pour assécher et chauffer la pièce principale dans laquelle la température devait s'élever à 14 degrés. Nous faisions de la buée en respirant, une personne est tombée malade, heureusement qu'il n'y avait pas d'enfant en bas âge.
Par ailleurs, le réfrigérateur n'a pas un volume permettant le stockage de denrées pour plus de 4 personnes alors que la capacité d'accueil de la location est de 12 personnes. Il n'est même pas possible de faire des glaçons.
Enfin, aucune chambre ne dispose d'une armoire ou d'un portant permettant de vider ses valises et accrocher les vêtements...
Le fait d'avoir eu extrêmement froid a gâché notre séjour. c'est dommage car, sous réserve des défauts décrits ci-dessus, cet endroit pourrait être parfait.
