About this house rental
"Briar House" is located in the upper part of Hora (Skyros Town) between the Byzantine fortress and the cobbled uphill streets where there are no cars. The house can accommodate 2 people.
The main entrance leads to the open plan dining kitchen / living area. Next door is the bedroom with a double bed (140X200 cm) and next to the bedroom, the bathroom with shower.
The balcony and terrace, overlooking the hills and the sea in the distance, are at your disposal to relax, enjoy breakfast or a meal.
Air conditioners make the house comfortable in hot weather.
Sheets and towels are provided but no beach towels.
The house is not suitable for the disabled.
Please note that pets are not allowed.
The area with the many old chapels, near the small town museum and the Byzantine fortress is very picturesque.
Of the two parkings, where you should park your own car or moped, it is about 100 meters the first and about 200 meters the second to the house.
The center of Skyros town with restaurants, pubs, shops, the bank, the post office and pharmacies is within walking distance.
Down to the sea extends over 3 km of the long and beautiful sandy beach of the Bay of Magasià, which is within walking distance of 10 minutes (about 20 minutes back) via a long staircase with stunning sea view.
A car is not necessary for your vacation. However, if you want to discover all the beaches, mopeds or cars are rent on the island.
The owners, who speak German, English, French and Greek are happy to assist you.
The picturesque harbor of Linaria with fish tavernas is 15 km away.
The bay of Pefkos is 15 km, the beautiful beach of Agios Petros 10 km and Atsitsa (in the green part of the island) 20 kms away.
The beaches of Kolymbada and Tris Boukes, 20, or 25 km, are located in the southern part of the barren island, an impressive landscape reminiscent scenically more to the Cyclades than the Sporades where you can smell the scent of thyme and sage ,
The island is very popular with hikers and offers nice long walks by the sea and on the land or through the narrow picturesque streets of the village.
Skyros has been inhabited since ancient times. During the excavations in "Palamari", in the northern part of the island, the archaeologists discovered a fortified settlement from the Bronze Age (2500-1800 v. Chr.) with impressive walls.
On Skyros has survived since antiquity the Skyros horse (Equus caballus skyriano), a small rare breed.

Wir blieben für eine Woche im Sommer. In der Zeit brauchten wir kein einziges Mal die Klimaanlage, da die Meeresbriese für eine angenehme natürliche Kühle sorgt. Das ganze Objekt war in tollem Zustand und super sauber. Die traditionellen Häuser in Skyros sind sehr eng beieinander, so dass ein gewisser Einblick in das Leben der Nachbarn nicht zu vermeiden ist. In dieser Wohnung sowie auf der Terrasse waren wir unbeobachtet. In fünf Minuten ist man im Zentrum. Unser Vermieter war sehr hilfreich und schnell zu erreichen. Alles in allem, sehr empfehlenswert. Irgendwann kommen wir wieder.

Nous conserverons un très beau souvenir de nos vacances à Skyros. L'appartement est véritablement charmant : idéalement situé, bien équipé, très propre et l'accueil par Miltos tout simplement chaleureux et parfait.

Dès que j'ai mis les pieds dans cette maison, je suis complètement tombée sous le charme! C'était encore plus beau que sur les photos! La vue de la terrasse est magnifique! Quel bonheur d'y prendre mon petit déjeuner chaque matin, à l'ombre! C'est un endroit tranquille car aucune voiture autour. La maison est impeccable, joliment décorée, et tout y est! Maria et Miltos ont été très avenants, il était facile de communiquer avec eux. Ils ont gentiment organisé les transports entre l'aéroport et la maison. Skyros est charmante, un réel coup de cœur pour moi! Il faut cependant avoir de bonnes jambes pour monter et descendre les nombreuses marches et petites rues... mais c'est comme ça un peu partout en Grèce. Je retournerais vivre dans cette jolie petite maison sans hésitation! Merci Maria et Miltos pour votre accueil! À une prochaine fois si la vie le permet!
